Leadership Endorsements
— Top Of The Org —When I tell you Snails is the real deal, I mean it. He shows up. He does the work. He doesn't need credit and he doesn't need cheerleaders. That's the kind of person you put in the room when the room actually matters.
I've watched a lot of people climb. Snails isn't climbing. He's building. He builds the room, he builds the people in it, and somehow he never makes any of it about himself. SHR isn't a reward for him — it's a long-overdue recognition.
Dependable, friendly and real. He doesn't need this rank to do the work — he's already doing it. We endorse this promotion unanimously and without qualification.
From the Mod Floor
— The People He Works With —I came in on a midnight rotation and Snails was already two escalations deep, fielding a fourth, and somehow finding time to tell a brand-new trial mod they were doing great. That's not a quote you make up. That's what actually happened.
I've been moderated by Snails. I've moderated alongside Snails. I've been corrected by Snails. Every single one of those things made me better at this. That's the test of a senior, and he already passed it.
From the Community
— The People He Protects —I had a problem at 3am. Snails handled it. He didn't make me feel like a ticket. He didn't make me feel like I was bothering anyone. He just fixed it and made me feel safer in a space I almost left. That's the whole job.
You can always tell which mods actually have your back versus which ones just say the right thing at staff meetings. Snails is the first kind. He doesn't make it a debate. He just handles it. That's the only kind of senior I want in this org.
Look. I don't endorse people. I'm a cynic. I endorse Snails.
Verdict from a Skeptic
— Reluctantly On The Record —"Look. I'll say it once. We're never speaking of it again."
— Anonymous Skeptic · Filed Reluctantly · For The RecordI don't do this. I'm the person who reads these petitions and writes "yeah, but actually, no" in the margin. Most promotion campaigns lose me inside a paragraph; they go too big, too fast, and collapse the second anyone asks them to back up the claim.
This one bothered me because it refused to. I went in expecting a soft spot somewhere: a weak reason, a quote that was clearly manufactured, a leap of logic in the middle. None of it surfaced. The man does the work and doesn't ask for credit. Given a chance to climb, he stepped backwards and kept doing the job anyway. Hard to argue with that, however much one wants to.
So. Fine. You win. I'm endorsing. Snails for SHR. We are not speaking of this again.
